If you wish to give your marriage a smooth ride, make sure both of you get sound sleep every night. A new study has found that a good night's sleep can buffer the effects of negative events on a couple's general satisfaction with their marriages.
When husbands and wives get more sleep than on an average night, they are more satisfied with their marriages, at least the following day, the findings showed.
AFP: Being selfless is a key to gorgeous sexual life, researchers say.
Are you a selfless personality? If yes, you will have good sexual life as people who help others are more desirable for the opposite gender, have more sexual partners and more frequent sex, a new study has found.
Researchers from the University of Guelph and Nipissing University in Canada interviewed about 800 people regarding their relationships and propensity for helping others.
According to the results, published in the British Journal of Psychology, even after controlling for age and personality, altruists—people unselfishly concerned for or devoted to the welfare of others—were found to have greater success at dating and sex.
‘This study is the first to show that altruism may translate into real mating success in Western populations, that altruists have more mates than non-altruists,’ said Pat Barclay, a psychology professor, in a statement.
Lead author of the paper Steven Arnocky from Nipissing University said that altruism evolved in our species, in part, because it serves as a signal of other underlying desirable qualities, which helps individuals reproduce.
‘However, it is a more effective signal for men than for women,’ Barclay noted.
The findings support previous studies on food sharing by hunters, which found that men who hunt and share meat enjoy greater reproductive success.

Whether you are travelling on ground or thousands of feet up in the air, you can look good! You just need to follow a few travel beauty survival tips.
1= Go with a moisturiser: Apply heavier moisturiser a day before you are going to travel. This will help in maintaining hydration in your skin before you are exposed to dehydrating effects of cabin pressure or air conditioner effects.
2= Tie high: Tie a high pony or a high bun to combat bad hair at the end of the long flight. And make sure to carry a wide tooth hair brush always.
3= Drizzle with mineral water: To give a touch up while travelling, never add extra foundation or blush, instead drizzle mineral water and add a bit of moisturiser.
4= Pick nude colours: Avoid bright coloured nail polish while travelling as it chips too easily and gives an unfinished look. Instead, go for neutral, sheer colour or a nude hue that won’t call for attention even if it chips.
5= Take your cleanser: If you can carry just a single skin care item from home, go for your cleanser as change in cleansers can abrupt skin’s acid balance and results in breakout.
6= Keep hands away from face: To avoid breakouts, make sure not to touch your skin while travelling as your hands carry numerous bacteria resulting in many skin problems. Use anti-bacterial hand wash before applying makeup.
7= A big no to eye makeup: Avoid mascara and creamy eye shadows. People often take a nap while travelling, so these might trail down to cheeks.
8= Don't stick to lipstick: People prefer using long lasting lipstick, but this really dehydrates your lips and so as to have an escape go for lip gloss. Re-apply the gloss throughout the trip and your lips will look fresh.

A recent study in Britain suggests that travelling could actually improve your health, help to lose weight, gain confidence, feel younger and even increase sex drive.
According to the survey conducted by Expedia, more than one million respondents said that travelling increased their sex drive. This is likely due in part to an increase in body confidence and improved mood, which makes them more predisposed for closeness.
"Travelling can help reduce the levels of the stress hormone cortisol. As stress and anxiety decreases, mood increases -- bringing many, often unexpected, positive benefits in how we perceive ourselves, motivation and productivity, and our general outlook on life," Linda Papadopoulos, who worked with Expedia on the study, said in a statement.
The study also revealed that for more than one million respondents, travelling helps to reduce weight. Travelling leads to a short burst of generally healthy behaviour and puts into a new routine which gives the chance to break unhealthy habits.
"Exposure to a healthy amount of sunshine is also believed to increase the brain's release of the hormone serotonin which is associated with boosting mood and helping a person feel calm and focused," added Papadopoulos.
The study also showed that more than two million respondents claimed that travelling made them more creative. Having a new experience inspires and increases levels of Serotonin that gives a more positive thought process in approaching creative challenges.
So if you are feeling depressed, creatively stunted, or anxious, or if your pores are clogged, or you are overweight, or you are just not having enough sex, the best thing you can do is go off and see the world - travel till you meet yourself.
