Rule: 1 . No sooner had + sub +v3+obj +than sub+v2+obj.(Hardly…..before/when,                 scarcely….when)

Example: a) No sooner had the teacher entered the class room than the students stood up.

b) Hardly had the train stopped the station before the passengers got down.

c) Scarcely had the rat seen the cat when the rat ran away.

Rule:2. As soon as +sub +v2 + obj +sub +v2 +obj.

Example: As soon as I got the letter I opened it.

Rule: 3. Sub +v1/v2 +obj + so that/in order that /that +sub + can, could, may ,might,+v1+ obj.

Example: we work hard so that we can shine in life.

Rule:4. Sub +v +so ……that +sub + can, could may, might +not+ v 1+ obj.

Example:  the subject was so hard that he could not understand it.

Rule: 5. Sub +v +obj +lest +sub +should / might +v1 (bv †evaK A‡_©) +obj.

Example: We study well lest we should fail in the exam.

Rule: 6. Sub +v +too +adj  /adv +to /for (personal obj) +v………

Example: a) The man is too weak to speak.

Rule: 7.Present /past indefinite +as if /as though +past indefinite /past perfect.

Example: a) He tells the story as if he knew it.

b) Hamidul told the story as though he had known all the matter.

Rule: 8. If +present indefinite +present /future tense.

Example: If it rains, we shall not go.

Example: If he came, I would go.

Rule: 20. Though, Although, In spite of , Despite + (alternative meaningful sentence)

Example: a) Though he is poor, he is honest.

b) In spite of his poverty, he helps the poor.

Rule: 21. Relative pronoun > who, which, that, whom, whose, ……..

Example: a) I saw the man who was playing cricket.

b) This is the house that he wants to buy.

Rule: 22. Sub + a.v + not + p.v + obj + let alone + obj.

Example: the boy cannot speak Bangle let alone English.

Rule: 23. Would rather /sooner…………..than………..

Example: I would rather die than beg.

Rule: 24. ………..In stead of, in lie of………

Example: I took history in stead of bangle.

Example: a) She will not go out if it rains. b) Everybody admires him because he is an  honest

   c) Rahim was rewarded as he was honest.

Rule: 26.Unless………………./ Untill, till……………

Example: a) Unless you read attentive you will fail. b) Wait for me until I come back.

Rule: 27. Not only +sub +but also + sub +v+ obj /  Sub+not only+ v +but also +v + obj/ Sub + v +not only +obj +but also + obj

Example: a) Not only father but also mother gets up early. b) The girl not only dances but also sings a song. c) My brother can speak not only Bangle but also English.

Rule: 28 .In case……Example: I will carry an umbrella in case it rains.
