KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF Edition With Powerful Triple-fan Cooling
Untypically for KFA2, the price of the GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF ranges more toward the top end. But for this you do not get just a simple stock graphics card. The large triple fan cooling unit looks huge and is also very powerful. We can already say this much, and thanks to some flashy RGB, there is also something to behold for the eyes.
KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames
In the price comparison, KFA2 is among the more affordable representatives in the market. But with the GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF, the manufacturer takes a different path, positioning this model slightly above the 500-Euro mark ($547). Or to be exact, you currently have to pay 569 Euros ($623) to buy this graphics card. However, the direct competitors such as the Asus ROG Strix GeForce RTX 2070 Super or the MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Super Gaming X Trio are priced even higher, which puts the price of our test unit into perspective. On the other hand, there are also slightly more affordable graphics cards based on the GeForce RTX 2070 Super, but those have weaker cooling systems and do without RGB.
The KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF is equipped with a very wide triple fan cooling unit which takes 2.5 slots and is able to dissipate the heat under load very well. Together with the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2080 Super WTF, the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF shares the PCB, since both graphics cards use the same TU104 graphics chip. The built-in cooling unit is mostly made of plastic. In addition, the graphics card is ornamented by some visual accents, including RGB illumination. The back plate is made from metal and simultaneously serves as a passive cooling element. As a visual highlight, it incorporates some stars, which can be easily seen due to the stylish RGB illumination.
Compared to the reference model from Nvidia, the graphics card looks very different. But there are also some differences in the technical data, since the Boost clock speed of the KFA2 model is slightly higher than that of the Founders Edition from Nvidia.
The KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames uses two power connections (6 pin, 8 pin) internally. At 215 watts, the power consumption is as high as that of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super FE. Externally, our test unit offers three DisplayPort connections and one HDMI port. There is no USB Type-C connection, which is available in the Nvidia models.
Based on AMD Ryzen 9 3900X
As our test system, we are using a current AMD platform based on the MSI MEG X570 Godlike. The CPU (AMD Ryzen 9 3900X) offers a good CPU performance and we are using an AIO (Be Quiet Silent Loop 280 mm) as cooling. The 16-GB working memory comes from G Skill and has a clock speed of 3600 MHz. As a monitor, we are using the Acer Predator XB321HK, which does not limit us due to its UHD capabilities. At this point, we would like to offer our thanks to AMD for providing us with a test platform.

The Clock Speeds of the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super Work The Frames
Despite the very large and powerful cooler, KFA2 only changes one clock speed setting, which is the maximum Boost clock speed. This is 1815 MHz in the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF. The same also goes for the power limit, which at 215 watts at 100% is identical to the Founders Edition. Using the Extreme Tuner tool, which is made available by KFA2, you can also select the option 1 Click OC with this graphics card, which increases the basic clock speed by 15 MHz. In the past, we were unable to detect any noticeable improvement due to this small clock speed increase. This is also the case for the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF. In terms of more performance, we will take a look at overclocking at a later point in time.
Synthetic Benchmarks
In the synthetic tests, the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF ranges at the same level as the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super FE. Compared to the MSI GeForce RTX 2070 Gaming Z 8G, which is overclocked by the manufacturer by default, our test unit is able to assert itself in our competition. However, compared to the Nvidia GeForce RTX 2080 Super FE, our KFA2 test unit remains about 10% behind. Basically, the performance of the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF is able to keep up with an AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT. Depending on the test, sometimes Nvidia is ahead, and sometimes AMD.
Gaming Benchmarks
The Witcher 3 frame times (Ultra preset)
The Witcher 3 frame rate development (Ultra preset)
In the pure gaming tests, we are seeing an almost identical result as before in the synthetic benchmarks. Both of the RTX 2070 Super models (Nvidia and KFA2) again perform at a similar level. But at the same time the gaming performance throughout is slightly better than that of the AMD Radeon RX 5700 XT.
The measured frame times show a good picture. While some single outliers are measurable, they are not noticeable. The Nvidia GeForce RTX 2070 Super performed similarly in our test. During the load test where we use "The Witcher 3" (Ultra preset), the KFA2 GeForce RTX 2070 Super WTF reaches high frame rates throughout without losing anything in terms of performance.
